About Me
No, I'm not the Zach Brown... Just one of many.
I grew up in Sugar Hill, Georgia, where I now call home with my wonderful wife, Karen, and our two dogs. It's a great place to live, work, and play. I'm blessed with a fantastic family that instilled values of faith, work-ethic, and service into my life from a young age. I understood my very real need for a rescue from the sin in my heart when I was a boy, beginning a life-long journey trusting Jesus as my Savior.
As I grew up in both body and faith, I discovered passions and gifting for music. Whether listening, singing, learning to play guitar, or melding thoughts to melodies, God has used music powerfully in my story. After serving in worship ministry for years as a volunteer student, God provided an opportunity to use that gift by serving on my first church staff as a Worship Director as I began college. During that time I was able to finish a BBA in Management from Kennesaw State University, where my passion for performing was met with practical knowledge about what it means to influence and lead well. Since then I've been blessed to serve the local church, combining the education with the gift of helping people experience worship in a powerful way.
I've heard the phrase that experience doesn't necessarily make you better, only learning from it does. I've been so blessed to learn from some of the best people around. When I started working full-time in church ministry at the young age of 19 I saw first-hand what success and failure can look like in the context of serving a local church. For the last 8 - 9 years I've been able to develop a very unique (that's a synonym for quirky, right?) experience and perspective, coupled with an eclectic skill set. From leading engaging worship atmospheres from the stage, preaching, working with technology and production, leading teams and small groups, preparing students to serve as the next generation of leaders... suffice to say I've done a little bit of everything in "church world" in a relatively short amount of time. I've learned a lot about what it looks like to serve and lead well from some amazing people, and how to help empower and equip others to do the same.
Ultimately, it's my desire to see churches that desire to help teach and show authentic worship. I can't wait to see what God is continuing to teach me, and experience all He has in store as I follow.
